Project Title Shelter construction for the NFS Sireen at village Sireen
Area Village Sireen Jagori, Union Council Batal, District and Tehsil Mansehra
Project Time Period January 5, 2009 to March 30, 2009.

Description of the Problem or issues at the target Site:

Sireen Jagori is a village of Uc Battal, which is located about twenty Kilometer away from the town of Shinkiari towards North East. Along with the village of Siren, other small settlements and Hamlets which surrounds Sireen include, KhalaBut, Kangar, Khel, Morni Naka and Bud Naka.

The children of the feeding school were subjected to a very vulnerable condition as it was not feasible for them to enroll at the primary school  of Jagori which is about two kilometers away from Sireen and the kids are too young to travel this distance. The community of Sireen had the contact with District Education Officer (DO) Mansehra and oriented him about the problem. He visited the site of the Feeding School Sireen and termed their concern as genuine. After that the district Education Officer had contact with Friends Pakistan and requested to support this school. Friends technical and social teams visited the target site of Sireen and prepared the social feasibility for the construction of shelters for this school which was considered a long term solution to this project.
