Friends Pakistan considers it a priority area to develop the personal skills, knowledge and abilities of its human resource as human resource is the most important asset of every organization. The focus of all aspects of Human Resource Development is on developing the most superior workforce so that the organization and individual employees can accomplish their work goals. Human and organizational development aims to strengthen organizational capacities at all level by ensuring a productive, professional and gender sensitive working environment in the organization. This has been ensured through having proper system in place through the implementation of policies and procedures of the organization.
Friends Pakistan has developed and implemented capacity building programs through a process based on organizational, occupational and individual capacity development needs to ensure proper utilization of the training initiatives. Training need assessment exercise was carried out for the staff of Friends Pakistan and volunteers.
The horizon and operational area of Friends Pakistan is extending day by day. Hence the needs of the organization for the efficient and productive staff are growing with the turn of each day. Friends Pakistan developed the strategy to strengthen the capacities of the organizational Human Resource. For this purpose, Friends Pakistan conducted internal capacity building sessions and also facilitated its staff to take part in the training events of the professional training organizations. Friends Pakistan also conducted the sessions for the teaching staff of the organization to equip its staff of the educational projects with the modern techniques of pedagogy as education is the key sector on which the organization has undertaken most of the interventions
• One hundred and Seventeen (117) staff members benefited from eleven (11) training events conducted within organization or conducted by other organizations.
• Effective utilization of communication plan by the internal staff of the organization.
• Management skills (technical, interpersonal, conceptual and diagnostic skills) of the beneficiary staff of training improved.
• Quality of work of staff improved.
• Project planning and implementation skills enhanced with the use of project management tools and techniques.
Friends Pakistan adopted Employees support program during the year of 2009 as the success of any organization is dependent on the efficiency of work of its employees. Friends Pakistan supported two of its staff members (Finance and IT) to attend the courses internationally and implement the acquired knowledge and modern practices in their concerning departments. Friends Pakistan has also initiated an internship program and facilitated ten (10) interns including Fresh University graduates to work in different departments to have the on job training during the report year of 2009.
• Two (2) staff members were supported in their studies abroad in their relevant fields.
• Ten (10)internees have successfully completed their intership period.
